Love and service
M.A.D. participants will learn service by assisting with the many ongoing needs related to the facility. The days will be spent working and helping with the needs of the camp. Participants will help run activities, lead work crews, complete service projects of their own around camp, and help with housekeeping. Participants will learn to look for opportunities to serve and minister and they will practice the skills to do so effectively.
Camp Activities
|
An important part of Dickson Valley is the activities provided. M.A.D. participants will get to experience each of these activities both by enjoying them as campers and by being trained to lead them for guests. Activities include an indoor climbing wall, an archery range, the ‘Gauntlet’, lake activities, the classic Harkness rope bridge, GPS activities, hay rides, an initiatives course, and canoe trips. Community building Service doesn’t end when the work day does. M.A.D. participants will learn to serve the Lord by serving each other. They will be led in activities and team building exercises in the evenings by their counselors. Whether working or playing they will be mentored in Christian relationships, attitudes, and lifestyle. We trust that they will leave Dickson Valley with friendships that will last. Spiritual development One of the greatest rewards of the M.A.D. Program is spiritual growth. While in the program participants will be mentored by trained college students to strengthen their Christian walk by 1) adding to their knowledge of the Bible and Christ’s life 2) developing a well-rounded prayer life 3) practicing their faith in the community and 4) learning to share their faith with others. Session 1:  June 21 - July 1 Session 2:  July 5 - July 16 Session 3:  July 19 - July 30 Session 4:  August 2 - August 13 Cost:  $50.00 for first session           $35.00 for additional sessions Participants will be provided with all their meals, transportation for day out, and a camp T-shirt. ![]() | ||
